Croatia - Island Brac - Pucisca
Pucisca
is a port and a settlement on the north coast of the island of Brac. It is
situated in the beautiful, well-protected bay that provides excellent
security for boats.
Pucisca is a center for the stone carving industry. Nearby there are three
large rock quarries (Punta, Veselje and Kupinova) that produce famous stone.
There are some Roman findings in the locality of Cad like: inscriptions,
fragments, and sculptures. The parish church owns a range of valuable
paintings, and the altar of Saint Anthony (Sveti Ante) is one of the best
examples of Dalmatian Renaissance wood carving.
Along with the stone carving skills, the locals are also known for their
hospitality.
Besides beautiful beaches and crystal blue sea you can enjoy water sports,
sailing, and windsurfing. During the summer, various entertaining events
take place in and around the town.
