Splitska is located about 7 km east of Supetar on the northern side of the island of Brac, and opposite the city of Split after which it was given its name. During the antiquity there was a harbour in Splitska from where the famous Brac blocks of stone were exported and used for the building of the Diocletian's palace in Split. Thus in the quarry of Rasoha, very near Splitska, a relief depicting Hercules can still be seen, which was made by one of Diocletian's stone-cutters. The inhabitants of Splitska are mostly in the agricultural business: olive-growing and viticulture, but tourism also. Splitska as such is an ideal place for a family vacation in the authentic Mediterranean ambiance. The island Brac is connected to the mainland with a frequent ferry-line Split-Supetar. Bol, a known summer resort with its famous beach Golden horn (Zlatni rat) is only 35 km from Splitska.
