Brela
is a village and a port situated 15 km northwest from Makarska. Due to it’s
unique beauty, thick pine wood, georgeus beaches, crystal blue sea and
wellsprings Brela came to be called the "pearl" of Makarska riviera and one
of the most attractive tourist destinations on the Adriatic.
The village is situated on the coast between the mountain - natural park
Biokovo and the island of Brac. It consisits of an older part (Gornja Brela)
by the old road in the mountain and the village by the coast (Donja Brela).
Due to the descending mountain steep into the sea, Brela developed along the
coast and are surrounded on both sides with long pebble beaches with thick
pine woods.
There
is a ten kilometer long beach where nature lovers can enjoy in scents of
pines and sea, aromatic herbs and seagull's calls.
The acomodation offer of Brela is rated "top quality". There is a variety of
possibilities for sports and recreation, tennis, table tennis, mini golf,
bowling and water sports.
On the beaches there is possibility for scooter, boat, pedalines, banana
rides and paragliding renting.
The cultural-entertaining life is also rich. Fishing nights are held, music
nights at the Hotel Maestral, culture events and art exhibitions. There is a
big choice of restaurants where you can enjoy in quality and diversity of
Dalmatian food and wine. For young people seeking fun there are bars by the
sea, disco clubs,karaoke shows...
Excursions are also numerous( Makarska, Omis, Dubrovnik, Split, Meðugorje,
islands of Brac and Hvar, rafting on river Cetina, hiking on Bikovo
