Drasnice is picturesque small village situated in the Makarska Riviera, around 10 km from the city of Makarska. The locals people are engaged in agriculture, fishing, olive tree and vine cultivation. Along the coast there is a number of pretty small pebble beaches. Drasnice itself is mentioned for first time in the Turkish document dated from 1523, at the same time when the St. George's church was built. In the 18th century the church gets its Baroque features, afterwards it was ruined by the earthquake. Today there is a new church built on some of the ruined church parts. Above the village there is the Gothic church of St. Stephen. The Roman inscription, dating from the 2nd century was found there.
