Igrane
is an idilic Dalmatian village situated in the heart of Makarska Riviera, 7
km away from Podgora and 15 km far from the city of Makarska. The village is
placed on a small peninsula with a vast pebble beach on the southeast, the
beach is 1.5 km long. The sarcophagi dating from the Roman Age bears witness
to a long history of the village. The Baroque summer house of
Simic-Ivanisevic family was built in the 18th century, the house is situated
on the beach. There is the St. Michael's church (XI/XII ct) located in the
middle of the olive trees above the village. In the village there stands the
Baroque parish church (from 1752). The village is characterized by the tall
church-tower.
There is the breakwater in the port suitable for the smaller yachts to
ashore.
The active sports lovers have at disposal various water sports, diving
school, mini-golf, table tennis, bowling,…
Igrane is an ideal place for a nice, family vacation, for enjoying the
virginal Dalmatian nature, crystal, clean sea and air. There are also
numerous stores, souvenir shops, money exchange offices, a post office,
restaurants, caffe bars,…
Igrane is an ideal startin point for numerous excursions, for it is placed
near numerous natural and cultural features of interest: natural park
Biokovo, Omis and rafting on the river Cetina, Trogir, Blue and Red lake
near Imotski, Dubrovnik, Međugorje.
For the guest desiring unruly night life, there are nearby Makarska, Baska
Voda, Tucepi and Brela. |
